Applications

<aside>

🌹 Is it required to submit FE3H samples when applying?

All applicants (both artists and writers) are required to submit at least one FE3H sample.

</aside>

<aside>

🌹 I haven’t drawn FE3H works in a while and my style since then has drastically changed. Is it okay to submit FE3H works even if it’s no longer reflective of my current style?

In this case, it is okay to include old work, but please label it as “[Old]” when submitting.

<aside>

🌹 Will the zine include any instance of poly? Whether romantic, plat, or just three boys being silly?

Poly ships are allowed in the zine! And all of the mentioned scenarios are accepted!

<aside>

🌹 Will artists and writers be asked to submit applications for specific pairings to prevent an uneven distribution? Will priority be given to applicants who are flexible on the pairings they create? How will pairings ultimately be assigned?

Artists and writers will be asked to provide pitches during the application process, as well as check off and list the characters and ships they want to create for respectively. Being flexible about which pairings you want to create for is a plus, but ultimately not the only deciding factor. We will try our best to work with our contributors’ preferences while ensuring a balanced representation in the zine when assigning finalized pitches.

<aside>

🌹 Would multiple people be allowed to create pieces for the same ship without collaborating (if they didn’t want to collab)?

We will allow a limited number of multiple pitches for the same ship. Our priority is to ensure balanced representation as much as possible.

<aside>

🌹 By BL do you mean the genre and its conventions or do you just mean gay ships. Like are we allowed to pitch ideas that don’t align with the proper BL genre?

We just mean gay ships! As long as it involves men kissing love between two men, it counts!

<aside>

🌹 Will the zine take place in any specific period, such as pre/post/mid timeskip? Or will they all be included?

Pitches may involve any of the mentioned time periods.

</aside>

<aside>

🌹 Are pre-TS ships like student-teacher allowed?

We allow pre-timeskip pitches! However, as this is a SFW zine, please keep all pitches suitable for a general audience.

<aside>

🌹 If we want to participate in this zine, will we need to submit a portfolio or is it open to anyone over 18?

Applicants will be required to submit samples, at least one of which should be an FE3H sample. A general portfolio is optional.

</aside>

<aside>

🌹 How are you accepting writers? Will it matter how established/popular you are?

We will be asking writers to provide 3 writing samples under 2k words, one of which should be an FE3H sample. At least one of them should be complete as well. A link to a general portfolio or AO3 account is optional.

The samples will be the basis for acceptances. Follower count or popularity is not a factor in judging.

<aside>

🌹 I saw that women characters are allowed in the background, however I was wondering about past ships involving them?

Past mentions/relationships with women characters are definitely fine and welcome! As well as present passing interactions, so long as it doesn't take away from the boys themselves and the zine's overall theme and message.

<aside>

🌹 Can we go a little over 2000 words for fic samples?

For sample purposes, there is a bit of wiggle room and you can go up to 2100 words maximum.

</aside>

<aside>

🌹 (For writing) When submitting "older" work samples, how old is "old?" When should I tag my samples as "[Old]"?

Please use the "[Old]" tag only if it's no longer representative of how you write and if the sample should only be used as as characterization guide!
